Hello.

Try updating the BIOS to FF with @BIOS. Update all drivers and uninstall all utilities relating to GA-X58A-UD3R Rev.2.

Have you configured your RAM according to the GA-X58-UD3R Rev.2 manual?

Try updating Pro Tools to the latest version. Pro Tools 9.0.2.

Try launching Pro Tools in ASIO mode.

Perhaps you would consider purchasing an Qualified PCI FireWire Adapter SIIG NN-440012-S8.

Also update Windows to SP1.

I wonder if you would be better off with a larger than 16 MB Cache HDD. Generally Cache size should be greater than 16 MB these days.

Are you recording to this? Does it support a Avid Audio Qualified Chipset?

I called and asked Avid where on your site can I find required spcs when building own computer. I was told sorry we dont have that info only for HD users. And to go to Avid forum and see what other peple are using to build there computers thats working n this is what I did. Im not even gonna rub it in avids face anymore im tired of probs I want solutions as we all do. Thank you for trying to help me bro.

Thanks. So that's maybe memory problems (already suggested by others you look at this), BIOS problems (already suggested by others you look at this), device driver or anti-virus (the device driver like part of anti-virus). Carefully check all third party added drivers are the latest/most know stable versions and Windows 7 itself is fully updated (as others have already suggested). If the problem persists and you have a third party anti-virus installed try the very latest version or better try completely disabling (or better uninstalling) it and see if that solves the problem.

If all these suggestions don't work you should work on getting a stack trace from the crash dump and that will likely show the culprit (likely a device driver by that point). The central source for debug tools and symbols is http://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/wind...dware/gg463009. You probably don't want to this far, so spend your time carefully updating and checking things as outlined above.

Darryl

Right. From Avid Knowledge Base 'USB hard drives are NOT recommended or supported for use as recording drives'. You need to find a better HDD recording solution.

I have updated to 9.02 with all of the exact problems.

Yes my ram is configured exactly who the GA-X58-UD3 illistrates in its manual.

And I have updated all my MOB drivers.

I tried windows svp 1 last week I also encountered several Blue screen crashes with my 3 year old raptor drive as my main drive I just replaced a few days ago thinking maybe its my main HD is dying, so appearently this is not the case.

I ran a MEM test this morning for 6 hours says no faulty errors.
