But at least, HEAT SHOULD be included in the PT8HD to PT HD9 update, otherwise we got NOTHING for our bucks.

I'm not sure what broseph is talking about, the magmas are still compatible

Yeah, I WOULD consider this upgrade seriously if HEAT was in the deal. For now though, it's just not worth it.

+1 for heat and or a special like the instrument special.
(Which is the same special if you already own some of it).
$500 for heat subtleness and that it's fractures HD systems apart in some-likeness seems awkward at best.

I do like some of the enhancements and the coming together as one but PT 9 is a decisive win for LE and a flexible enhancement for HD.

Anyone ever get any coupon codes?

For me this represents a $2450.00 upgrade (Edu system of 2 HD-8 and 7LE-8).

I was disappointed there was not bundle for HEAT and the 9 upgrade, but I wouldn't have expected them to throw it in. As it stands now, it's $850 for both. Would have been nice if they offered a bundle for 9HD with it for $700.

What of all the people that payed for Heat when it first came out? Pretty sure Avid wouldn't then offer it effectively subsidised as part of the upgrade.

I have no need or want for Heat myself so I'm saying it from the 'outside looking in" but I do agree, their ain't much reason for a HD user to upgrade (I'm one of them). Right now HD isn't soo attractive as it was last week but when new DSP cards are released, I think the gap will be clear again.

And besides, Prep/editing etc is what I imagine most people wanted to use a laptop for, not critical listening?
