Re: Any MB with 1155 socket that can support original PCI HD cards?
Has anybody tried that Jetway board? It sure does look tempting...

Shame Q67 and B65 boards are so thin on the ground. I don't really want to have to go with an older chip (1156) if I have to do a Win 7 build from scratch! i can't find the Gigabyte B65 board in stock anywhere, so this might be the only option!

Re: Any MB with 1155 socket that can support original PCI HD cards?
Looks like Germany or USA. The German price is very expensive 245 Euros is the only price I can find, compared to $219, probably worth buying from US. Pretty sure that VAT and customs duty is low on computer equipment?
I'm thinking about this board but reluctant to be the first I'm also thinking about scrapping HD Accel and going native, but struggle to deal with the idea of paying out £1000 to upgrade(?) my Core Accel card just so I can lose the dependency on PCI. Would also lose Phoenix, Amp Farm & Echo Farm, Liquid Mix and just the flexibilty of being able to use TDM when I'm running RTAS VIs. I know I can share the load by running compressors etc on TDM |

Re: Any MB with 1155 socket that can support original PCI HD cards?
i tried to order from Germany but although it looks in stock online, once the order was placed they emailed me to say it wasn't available. Looks like they were planning to just order from ASUS as the orders came in..It's a ghost board as far as i can see
Looking like Sandybridge is a total no go..1156 here i come!

Re: Any MB with 1155 socket that can support original PCI HD cards?
I emailed Jetway and they've given me a company that stock their MBs in UK http://linitx.com is the website, they don't have the board listed but maybe they would order one in from Taiwan next time the get a shipment?
I haven't contacted them yet, my PC is behaving itself since I took half the memory out, I had 16GB but Sandra was reporting very high temeratures like 97 degrees which is above the max operating temp. So no freezes since I did that.... I'm just building an extension to my garage so I can have a separate control room, so all my energy is focussed on that just now... |

Re: Any MB with 1155 socket that can support original PCI HD cards?
I just did a build on an ASUS P8Q67-M DO/CSM and it's working fantastically well! (1155 chipset)
What a difference, compared to the Gigabyte GA-P55-UD3R build I did last year (1156 chipset). A few twists and turns installing, SL, but so far, it's really great. I put in an nVidia 9500GT Video card (PCIe), and a PCIe FW-400/800 card. Oddly enough, the picture shows the heatsink rotated 90 degrees from what I have. I carefully did a pair of hacksaw cuts to make a space for the 2nd HD card (and cleared out the stuff in between with the chop-saw). It looks like the one in the photo would clear the 2nd HD card perfectly, and you could snap off part of the heatsink for the first HD card. Anyhow, it's working great! Cheers, eh? |

Re: Any MB with 1155 socket that can support original PCI HD cards?
Barring any unforeseen scheduling conflicts, I'll be putting together a new system with the Jetway board to host my PCI HD|2 this weekend. It should be a nice step up from my existing Q6600/XP/4GB rig to an i7 2600/Win7 64-bit/16GB system, assuming everything plays nicely together...
Fingers crossed!

Check out this other thread where I've been trying to collect a list of working sandy bridge systems:
