Well keep posting on this thread with updates. I'm anxious to hear their response cause right now I have a 1500 dollar card in my computer that cannot work with my DAW.

I worked with it for about 4 hours today. I had a couple stretches where I could go 150+ saves, and not crash it! Then I'd close the program, try again and crash it within 10 saves or less. Makes no sense! For a while I thought I'd tracked it down to be related to the ADC, as a session without the ADC (at first) worked very well even with a ton of UAD plugis all the way up to 95% on the DSP meter. Then I had luck with a couple hundred saves by first toggling the ADC on/off/on before the first save, then keeping the ADC on also at 95%. Then I also tried it all at about 69% DSP usage on the UAD2. Alas, I could not get it to consistently repeat it's good behavior.

Just about ready to give up on the PT9/WIN764BIT/UAD combination until the first patch comes, or when I buy a new Mac Pro whichever comes first...

That's what I'm thinking...the waiting part...not the mac part. The bad part is that I use the UAD stuff to master.

I had a rash of this a few weeks ago. Win7/003/PT9/ UAD2. I run other plugs, such as McDsp, Stillwell and some other wrapped VSTs, IKM stuff. What I did was to remove some older Digi BF plugs, the metering crap, and things settled down for me from where they were which was very unstable when hardly doing anything in a rough composition session. I've left all my UAD plugs in.

I do run SD2 which is a VI of course and like the suggestion said, my install was not pointed to the proper library, so in my case that may have helped as well. Are you guys using any drum software and not considering it to be a VI? Just a suggestion.

My real work has pulled me off my music rig since last weekend for awhile, but eventually I'll get back to it... Fingers crossed.

I'm not running any of the BF plugs just Waves and UAD. The WAVES is running like a champ...all the UAD plugs keep locking me up.

Interesting. I've been having these same sorts of issues. I went back to my PTLE8.0 rig for now, with the UAD2 Duo. I was getting save errors and corrupted session files, having to restore from backups. Very annoying. I built a new PC to go with PT9, so I just put my old rig back in place for now and moved the UAD2 back into it. I'll set the new rig up again soon and start tinkering with it again, but I have some projects coming up so went back to the reliable rig for now.

That makes at least 3 of us with similar PT9/UAD2 issues.

@MrJoshua.

So am I to assume that 8 works with UAD2 No problem? If so, I'm starting to think that it is the ADC in 9 that is not playing nice with UAD.

Just seeing if others have had any luck over the last few days?

I installed the new RME ff800 driver that just came out. It seemed to help the instablity issues a little, but it's still got a ways to go.

It's strange that the "save as" action seems to crash PT9 the quickest. From what I can tell it's only writing about a 2.6 meg file to the drive during each "save as".

Well, I have been tinkering a little bit...I have the following UAD plugins

Precision EQ - Doesn't crash
Precision Maximizer - Doesn't crash
Precision Multiband - Doesn't crash
Precision Limiter - Doesn't crash
1176 SE - Seems to be playing nicely....200+ saves
Cambridge EQ - Doesn't crash
CS-1 - Never Use it so I don't know...came with the card
Realverb Pro - crash prone
Pultec EQ - extremely crash prone

It might be the latency of the individual plugs, but if that is the case, why doesn't PT freak out when i use the Multiband and its 17000 samples of latency on my master fader.
