What types of monitors are they? Is one of your amp channels or the input sensitivity on the monitor (if it's powered) higher than the other?

are your monitors close to the wall in a corner, you could be hearing a build of up frequencies. Physically switch your speakers around and see if the problem follows, if you have a seperate power amp switch the speaker cables too to see if the problem follows the speakers. If you switch your speaker and the problem is still in the same place, could be a room related problem.

should assume you've check all your pannings, the PT master fader meterings,
the mixer or preamp meterings and the poweramp or individual levels of your monitors levels

First thing is to swap the monitor cables left and right, and see if the problem is one of the monitors, or the output from the 002. Then eliminate cables by swapping. Double check any level or sensitivity controls on the monitors.

Then, try the monitors using a different pair of outputs on the 002, like maybe 5 and 6.

With all the available outputs, and all the swapping that can be done, this problem should be easily isolated.

not to sound like a moron or anything, but if all else fails, and everything seems to be ok, maybe it's just your ears..
i know that my right ear hears slightly less than my left...so it always seems like the left is louder in my mixes to me...but to other people they are dead on....i've learned to compensate

The panning in ProTools centers exactly.
