Re: i7 Builds - Specs and Results
That graphics card will support a maximum of 2 monitors - one through VGA, the other through DVI or HDMI (DVI and HDMI share a RAMDAC on that card)
So if you want to use 2 screens you will have to use VGA.

Re: i7 Builds - Specs and Results
Thanks. I have a vga monitor I plan to use before getting a second monitor later. So I imagine that would do fine then.
If there isn't any other foreseable hiccups or suggestions anyone may have, I will start getting the parts together. Thank you all for your help, the suggestions and advice have been very much appreciated. |

Re: i7 Builds - Specs and Results
Skip the wireless card unless it is absolutely necessary. Upgrade to a better CPU heatsink. Noctua NH-D15 is an amazing product for this, as long as it can fit comfortably inside your case. This cooler will block the top PCIe slot of your motherboard, though.
This looks to be a made-to-order PC, so you may be forced to choose only from specific options provided by the builder to keep the warranty intact.

Re: i7 Builds - Specs and Results
Cheers for the response, yes this is an online store where i pick the parts and they put together.
i don't see any option for noctua heatsinks. only ones from zalman, antec and trition. which of these wpuld be better, other than that is the build pretty good? |

Re: i7 Builds - Specs and Results
Depends on the type. Personally I would avoid closed-loop liquid CPU coolers, and opt for all-air. I have some experience with a few Zalman air coolers, which functioned quite well (but nowhere near the noise-to-temperature performance of the Noctua equivalent).
CPU heatsink aside, that's a great build. What manufacturer or website are you purchasing from?
