Default Interface hard drive chai

I'm running a digi 002 firewire to my mac mini. My new owc external drive is also firewire. Is the order of connection within this chain important?
Should it be computer, hd, then interface?

I would hook the drive off the Interface, i think interface always goes first

Actually, the drive goes first, BUT, there is a reason, and it will(should anyway) work either way. The reason is because the drive may be writing data, even after your session is closed, so if you turned the interface OFF, the data stream would be broken and likely get corrupted. Putting the interface at the end will prevent this. But, as long as you are careful to leave things connected until you shut down, there should be no issues.

Let me also take this moment to warn you to never(as in NEVER EVER!!!) plug or unplug the FW cable when things are powered ON as it can(and will) fry the FW circuit in the 002(and 003) and/or the FW port on the computer
