critical update Please help

Due to this new virus 2008/2009 I reinstalled xp with sp3 and updated all critical updates but when I try to install pt 7.4 Iget Protools still looking for critical update
When I try to install hot fix it says the file im instaling is older than than the one installed and i dont need to install this

any help would be appreciated

If you are running Windows XP, make sure you have SP3 installed. Check by right-clicking on MyComputer and select Properties. 7.4 requires SP3(why they are not more clear on that is anyone's guess) but that's what worked for me. You can get the SP3 update either from microsoft, or by googling "free SP3 download" or something like that. I don't have my audio machine connected to the internet so I needed to download the files and transfer them with a USB pendrive.

Actually 7.4 is fine on Service Pack 2 with the installation of certain updates. It's all outlined on this page:
