If Avid came up with a most stable, reliable (without the dreaded-9173 that seems to never go away) and efficient release, then I, for one will end my expensive $400 yearly subscription fee.

But I doubt that'll happen in 2019 before my subscription ends...

I miss the good ole days of Digidesign.

You miss 1995 and Pro Tools III? I'm sure you can find a DSP farm in some electronics junkyard.

The main problem with subscriptions....as we have been saying for years.

“There is no financial reason for Avid to deliver stability in a release”

Zero zilch nada

If that’s true then I really hope they loose all their customers to reflect a bit on this.

With a stable system they could keep me onboard with innovation. I suppose I'm one of the lucky ones that has a fairly stable system now. Perhaps because I'm on HDx.

One thing I always do though is make sure all the plugs I use are the latest version and I move out plugs I rarely use. Doing that has helped me a lot with stability.

Perhaps it will help others. If I demo a plug and get an error, I don't buy it.

I'm on Native and my system is rock solid stable. But it wasn't easy to understand all the things that can make Protools go down. It's a fragile DAW.

Well, you really do have issues. looking at your responses to anyone and assuming something from whacko world doesn't really further your argument does it. Perhaps seeing someone about those issues may be beneficial.

I have to say since fixing a few issues I was having my sys is now surprisingly rock solid. The only time I seem received an error prompt is when I forget to kill the WiFi.

I won't psychoanalyze anyone in particular, but I have noticed over the past few years in particular that some of the newer members of the audio community -- those who are just becoming old enough to do so -- tend to be a bit "precious." Their shelves of participation trophies and gold stars suggest to them that they're immediately knowledgeable and qualified with all things, in all corners of the world, and they feel that criticism in their general direction is just rude, regardless of how accurate it might be or who it may have come from. It takes a minute or two to realize that arguing with such people wastes good brain cells, and is typically fruitless at every stage.
