A question about Aux sends, Midi channels and Solo
howdy friends,
When I write tracks, I use a sampler and a few synths via midi. I assign each midi channel and then create an Aux input for the devices output. My question is this. Frequently, I will have a few sounds coming out the sampler over the same inputs (ie all drum sounds on individual midi tracks going into PT via inputs 3-4). A lot times I find myself wanting to solo the kick drum (say it its on midi channel 1, snare on 2, hat on 3). Is there anyway that I can set up PT so that when I hit solo on midi channel 1, it will solo the aux input for the device? I know I can set up a group for all of the midi channels that feed to the input, but I don't know how to do it so that I can solo midi channel 2 only and the aux without having to solo the midi channel and then the aux. Can I link them somehow? Thanks for reading my exceptionally long explantion (I am sure I could have said it in 25 words or less)! Chris
