Data loss with PT 7.1
I recently recorded the most amazing vocal vamping i've ever heard on the outro of a song. when we tried to listen back a half hour later, the region was gone along with several others - gone from the edit window and the regions list. I found some of the tracks in the audio files folder but the magic vocal files were not there. does pro tools ever rename files or assign them default names and store them outside the project somewhere?
i searched for all aif's within the date created range, but no luck. any ideas would sure be appreciated. PT M-powered 7.1, Mac dual 1.25 Ghz G4, 1.75 gig RAM, OSX 10.4.10 thanks for your help, dean |

Re: Data loss with PT 7.1
I'm not seeing anything that would indicate loss of audio files being fixed in an CS update, so it's a mystery what may have happened.

What kind of drive were you using for recording and playback? |

Re: Data loss with PT 7.1
I was using some kind of decent Western Digital or comparable drive. separate from the boot drive. I guess i should just deal with the files being gone. a heartbreaker but thanks for your response.
