Quote:
"Internally, computer times are represented as a count of seconds since an epoch--a well-defined point of time. On GNU and POSIX systems, the epoch is 1970-01-01 00:00:00 UTC, so `@0' represents this time, `@1' represents 1970-01-01 00:00:01 UTC, and so forth. GNU and most other POSIX-compliant systems support such times as an extension to POSIX, using negative counts, so that `@-1' represents 1969-12-31 23:59:59 UTC."

Bridge to engine room: "Richard, I need more power! Or the Romulans will have us for breakfast!"

Engine room: "But captain, I'm giving it all I got. Maybe I can bypass the main junction circuitry!"

Hey Richard, I hope all is well. You the man

Well, I just got out the shower to discover the last 3 1/2 years has just been a figment of my imagination.

wait a minute, there wasn't even COMPUTERS in 1969
OK, here was the state of digital audio in 1962. My dad managed an academic computer center. I was in elementary school and he gave me and my little friends a tour of the center for my birthday.

One of the highlights was holding an AM transistor radio next to the magnetic core memory of the IBM 7090 and having the magnetic cores "play" Happy Birthday, which was picked up by the radio and converted to audio. Needless to say we thought that was way cool.
