When you do the renew in your products page make sure the drop down box is highlighting the correct lic renewal. I have noticed in mine the default sits on the subscription model and I have to select the renew support plan item. It seem to be easily overlooked.... my feeling is this should sit on the default of your lic model as I nearly changed mine to a sub model when I was extending my lic before the price increase.

Yeah but that's not what they want.
Another classy move. I'm wondering how many people have done this without realising and will be caught out in the future. |

No that’s not what they want, but when the customer will realize he/she has been ripped off will say bye bye to pro tools, even if it’s the industry “standard” and will tell to 10 more other potential avid customers about their people in suits greediness. And then Avid will start to cry telling the story about how they had the best daw in the history....yeah, but if you treat your customers bad they’ll leave anyway.

Actually I have two HEAT activations: my permanent license and the new via yearly subscription. All my Avid plugin licenses are fine. My problem is that I lost my Pro Tools permanent license!
Still havent heard from Avid web store. Hope they let me re-instate my Pro Tools permanent licenses and simply renew its yearly support. |

That should stop any issues in future but I do agree in this case, since you are obviously entirely honest that you had zero intention of giving up your license, that they should absolutely give it back to you. The one thing I am not sure of though is if it actually costs them money to deposit an iLOK asset.. Maybe someone else knows that.
