It was really a lesson in spelling taught with imagery and Pun. Well done, at that.
Your problem, however, sucks... and I feel for you. Did you get the chassis from the same dealer? If you are in or near a big city, you may be able to find a magma chassis to rent or borrow; reinforces that old axiom.. never change OS, PT version, or dang near anything, mid-project. Good Luck SB

The dealer advised which computer to buy as a replacement and at the same time said it would only run with pro tools 8 (or now we find it will run on 7.4.2 but that has the same problem as far as i can read on all the posts)

The chassis we had running fine for nearly 2 years on a G4, so its only the new software or the new computers with Leopard that is bugged with the problem and according to the website its all compatible. the dealers don't have a Magma for us to try or borrow and the cost of buying one is too expensive for us now.

Reading the bug fixes in the new version of 8 it doesn't look like this has been fixed either we're going to try the cs3 today and live in hope as at the moment this is killing us with the amount of time we lose having to create with just the digidesign plugins then bounce them all before we can mix the tracks. and everytime we want to change the music in the mix we have swop plugins around and re-boot again without any third party plugins. but even then we still have the occasional quit. but it is what the other posts suggests and caused by the 3 digidesign instruments xpandi/hybrid and structure.

Jez

(Sorry Handre for any spelling mistakes)
