Yes but in particular, SONAR builds a tempo map for each clip you choose to open for AudioSnap. It works but gets a little bogged down even when AudioSnap is off. I don't notice this in PT with Beat Detective. Slices and dices neatly, accurately, conforms and closes gaps seamlessly with very little additional fixing required. And then when the tracks are consolidated, it all seems to be completely removed from the project, except for the resulting tracks.

PT got BD right.

I have been freezing up on almost every session. Sometimes I can just wait it out, other times it throws errors and goes to the desktop. I had a friend over and he noted that 9 never had this problem...

I really could care less about Sonar.

I was looking to make that statement myself.

Except Pro Tools 10 freezes.

Checking around... is this problem limited to Windows?

Is PT 10 more problematic then 9.0.5 or 9.0.6?

PT 9.0.6 is stable on my systems, but I use UAD plugins and external hardware inserts.

PT 9 can't handle the amount of delay compensation for this setup.

PT 10 can address greater delay compensation requirements... until it freezes.

Problem happens identically on two of my systems.

Great but unfortunate to hear engineers out there beside myself are experiences similar problems with Pro Tools 10 ><

I have been experiencing freezing during Pro Tools 10 sessions are well.
I am required to shut down/restart/reboot my machine everytime this happens. More than a slight inconveniece!

Pro Tools 9 seemed to work flawlessly, however Pro Tools 10 still seems to have bugs which hopefully will be ironed out with an update.
Pro Tools 10 seems to require far more from the CPU than 9, which means you have to run less RTAS plug-ins (please correct me if these statements are untrue).

The short freezing is happening on my system also.

9.0.6 was running fine. As soon as I switched to 10 the freezing began.

It happens unpredictably, but often, and lasts for a few seconds.

Hopefully 10.0.1 releases soon. Or some kind of update.

Yes, a CS update would be very welcome. I had 9.0.3 rock solid but 10.0.0 seems to be unstable & has a lot of bugs. From the serious ones such as the freezing & random DAE errors through importing audio from CD being broken again (but user unfixable this time) to broken keyboard shortcuts (ungroup clips for one).

I get the impression PT10 was rushed tbh. I'm more than a little surprised (& dissapointed) there hasn't been a CS released as yet as a lot of people have been reporting similar problems. It has some great features (esp. With the CPTK) but the more I use it the more I'm actually thinking of rolling back to 9 until they get 10 sorted out. Shame.
