Default PT 2018.4: When recording to a audio tack waveform acts bizarrely!

Hi!

I am using PT 2018.4 on Win10. Everything have been alright so far, but now when I create a new session and start to record i.e guitar, vocals on a audio track. This happens: the recording level is alright (about -17 - -15 dB), but the waveform on the track i sometimes very small or sometimes quite big. Of cause I can make the waveform bigger or smaller, but I can't be 100% sure whats the correct size of the recorded track.

This is very very annoying!! And I can't continue to record, if the waveform is not correct. I have tried everything possible, but I can't solve the problem.

Someone know about this? Please, all help is welcome.

Thanks!

Double click on the magnifier tool at the top of the edit screen. That will set all waveforms to the default size.

The more important detail is how high the track meter moves, With metering set to pre-fader, the proper level is around just below where the meter turns from green to yellow(the "yellow is the new red" concept).
