Endless Creation of new Plug-in Preset Folders and can not lauch Pro Tools 12

Beach Ball at Launching Pro Tools always creating more Plug-in Preset Folders..

All of the Sudden I can not Load Pro Tools,

I uninstalled Pro tools and Installed it again

12.7.1 on Mac 10.10.5

Is lauch creates a new Plug-in Preset Folder
No Luck opening Pro Tools, always the Beach Ball

I checked my HD is OK
Same as RAM

what is odd too, is that the plugin preset folders are very large .. what size is the Folder before you try and launch PT ?? 25MB or 4.34GB ??

Is 393 MB The original size of the Plug-in Preset Folder and I can not launch Pro Tools, I installed it many times
and the crazy part is that I am just with the stock Pro tools PLugins and The beach ball shows up loading a plug in or if goers fwd when creating database

also what is weird is that PT is creating preset folders of other plugins that are not at the Plug Ins Folder (only Pt Stock Plug ins are there)... I trashed the all the original Plugin Preset Folder..so there should be only the presets for the Pro Tools stock Plugins

have you tossed your prefs using the Pete Gates App ?? if yes, then disregard ..

Remove *all* files from the plugin folder. Then trash prefs. Then start Pro Tools. Make sure you are running as admin. Still problems, create another OS X admin account and test from there.

That's great advice, but I always hate getting it. Not because it's a bad idea, but because the outcome is so frustrating.

I create a new admin account, install the software, and it works. Great.

So, NOW WHAT?

Knowing that the installer works and that the software will run with no changes to system preferences or any other software installed doesn't identify what's causing it to fail when the computer is set up the way I like it!

It means having to change each of my preferred settings one at a time, testing the troubled software after each adjustment. Then re-installing all my other software, one app at a time, doing a drive clone every time in case the one I'm installing now is the one that causes the troubled app to misfire. It's so tedious and time consuming that it makes me want to just dump the not-working software instead!

But of course you're right.

So now what... you migrate all your docs etc. to that new account changing ownership etc. as needed. You don't need to reinstall any other apps if they are all installed for all users and all plugins etc. work when tested. Then rename the old account something else and leave it around just in case, and rename the new account to be the name of your old account if you want to, etc. and then get back to work.

Speaking of which, my cursor disappears every time I switch an iTunes video to full screen. If I click at the top of the screen -- where the menu bar would be -- it comes back. Any ideas?
