Default I have no idea what I hit...

Heya, I'm having a rather nasty problem in protools. When I make a selection...or click somewhere within the session to play audio from that point. It doesn’t. It starts playback from where the blue tabs are in the ruler/beats/minutes/seconds menu thingy are or it starts over from the beginning of the session. I’ve tried warm booting and cold booting the computer with no avail. This problem also exists in other sessions. Can anyone help me out?

First of all I'n not near my ProTools so this may read a bit sketchy.
Go to your Operations drop doen and make sure there's a check mark next to "Playback follows timeline" or something like that.
Tha blue arrows are what determine where it starts playing and where it stops. You should use them to mark the begining and ending pf your songs before bouncing to disk so it doesn't bounce anything other than your song.

Travis,

Don't feel like a "mook" that's what the DUC is all about!

I experience a similar problem when I hit control s to save, sometimes it selects a region that starts with an s. It appears to happen when I hit save and I don't need to. i.e. if the File -> save item is greyed out this happens. I find this to be a bug. But you can see what it's trying to do by typing letters on the keyboard. You'll see that it selects the different regions by the first letter of the region.

On your edit screen, there is a little tab marked "a-z". One is located above your regions list, one above the mix and edit group list, and one above the show/hide track list.If that tap is pressed on ,for example the regions list then you can select regions from the letters on the keyboard. If you press, for example, an "s", all regions that start with an "s" will be selected. This also works with the mix and edit group list and the show/hide list.
See ya

I gotta say, that's something that I didn't even consider. Wow I can still keep learning! Maybe I'll go back and read the manual for some nuggets!

Thanks for the inspiration, smmdrum!

Respect!
