My Ilok is dying ?

It started a month back ,out in the middle of a session PT did nor see the Ilok that was plugged into my USB Hub since the early days of Ilok2.
First thing that came to my mind was to plugged it ion the front USB of my mac pro 5.1.
worked right away
As of today it's becoming more frequent on the front USB port and I have a hard time restarting PT even when the Ilock manager sees the ILOK.
I quitted PT and ordered a new Ilok overnight before I loose it totally.
Anyone had the same problem with their Ilok ?

Thats how our problems started last fall. Our first iLok issue and it started out coming on and off while working on a session so we went out and bouht a USB2 hub as many people have had success with iLoks in USB2 ports instead of the USB3 ports on our newer Mac Systems.

So .. One night it started loosing connections every 10-15 minutes, i started having severe panic attacks and was updating our ILM every day without anything improving.

Then the iLok disappeared from the ILM (greyed out) so we had to buy a new ilok and Thank Every GOD you pray to for iLOK ZDT & TLC

Took less than 2 hrs and we had temp licenses for every plugin and VI on the broken iLok. Get ZDT!

$30 for piece of mind is well worth it seeing the alternative would be to try and sweet talk every developers plugin you own to deposit a new license in good faith ...

So as soonas you get the new iLok you ordered shove it into the computer and deactivate all your licenses off the dying iLok so that the licenses goes back onto your iLok Account, then put all of them onto your new iLok before you can't do any action at all with the dying iLok.

Don't forget to activate TLC aswell. It's free and covers theft loss which is great.

Don't wait for your new iLok! I would suggest just deactivate the your old iLok asap and transfer when the new one arrives.

While ZDT is definitely a boon, why go through the hassle of sending it all the way and waiting for pace to verify?

Ofcourse if you need your licenses in the meantime, that's a moot point

My suggestion is to make SURE you get ZDT on your new ilok as soon as you get it, not get ZDT now on a broken ilok which won't work anyway as there is 7 day cooling off period at ilok.

New Ilok is here and working.
it's a real shame that the Ilok 2is not built to last longer,the older one was never moved around.I have Pace dongle that are 3 time the age of that Ilok2

As with any electronic device, anything is possible. I doubt the reliability of the newer iLok is any worse than the old one as we would have seen it all over the forums.

I've had an issue as well where the ilok just stopped working.. Fortunately pace was very quick to have a replacement shipped in warranty and it was all up and running in a couple of weeks(I live in India).

This was before I took ZDT. If Now I would not live without it!
