What is the best method to rhythmically align background vocals?
Would you use beat detective or voc align or just do it manually?

Vocalign all the way.. Its quick, intuitive, and the results are very transparent, even on really dramatic realignments...

I find the best way is to find vocal you like the timing of, maybe combine two,- manually align them on a visual basis, then listen, may tweak a bit more and THEN VocAlign them.
TOP OF THE DAY: On a typical 18-24 track bg mix, I usually leave only 2 or 4 tracks open for breaths. Peter www.clearproduction.com
