Default problems with external clock and mbox pro

I have serious problems with external clock sync and mbox pro

my setup is:

macbook pro 2.4 intel core duo
PT 8.02
mbox pro
apogee rosetta A/D (which is my main convertor and spdif clock)

I use the rosetta as a external clock via spdif - whenever I startup protools in the morning PT switched back to internal but is not able to playback because of dae error -6085 buffer size something

I have to switch back to spdif and restart and then everything works fine but its kinda annoying every morning the same procedure...

Is the Rosetta powered up first? I would start by making sure the Rosetta is on before powering up the computer(maybe power the Mbox as well) so the Mbox will see the Rosetta clock as up and stable(when DIGI hardware does not detect a stable clock, it reverts to internal automatically).

Are you possibly using the Mbox Pro with the power supply attached?

If so, shut everything down, disconnect the power supply, then restart and test again.

If you aren't using the power supply, try shutting down, disconnecting the Mbox Pro, restarting and plugging it in after the computer boots up.

Let us know if either of these fix the errors.

YES

If so, shut everything down, disconnect the power supply, then restart and test again.

I DID THAT - STILL THE SAME AND 100% REPRODUCABLE

If you aren't using the power supply, try shutting down, disconnecting the Mbox Pro, restarting and plugging it in after the computer boots up.

I DID THAT AS WELL - WITHOUT THE POWER SUPPLY - STILL NO CLOCK

Let us know if either of these fix the errors.
the rosetta is always poered before my whole protools rig

so what I have to do EVERYTIME I want to use protools is startup, then get error -6085, go to hardware setup, change clock to internal and back to spdif, restart protools - like this it works

as long as I only shut down the computer but keep everything powered I can startup and it works but if I switch off power I have to do the restart and reclock thing again...

is this a bug? never had this problem with 7.x

May sound like a funky question but, Is you external Drive FW800? Your second comment about the 002 not having an issue sparked a memory I had resolving a similar issue. The problem was we were not aware that the MBox Pro series is not compatible with FW800 External Hard Drives.
