Issues with H/W buffer size, using Profire 2626 and PT10 HELP!
Pro Tools will not playback the demo session. I hit play and nothing happens. When I click on the Playback Engine drop box, it gives me this popup message:
"Your audio device is configured with an unsupported audio buffer size. Please select one of the following supported buffer sizes in the device control panel: 32, 64, 128, 256, 512, 1024, or 2048." It then opens the Playback Engine window. There is no number or drop-box next to H/W buffer size. It is completely blank. When I open the software for the Profire 2626, the buffer size is set to one of those numbers. 256 by default. I have reset it to each of the numbers listed above, and I still get the same message. HELP! Running PT10 with M-Audio Profire 2626. 64 bit Windows 7 Home Premium, Gateway DX4860, i5-2320 processor, 3.00 GHz, 8 gigs of ram. |

Re: Issues with H/W buffer size, using Profire 2626 and PT10 HELP!
David, I'm having trouble getting my Profire2626 to work with PT10. I have the PT10 trial installed on a very similar PC to yours but, when I launch PT10, it says it cannot initialize the ASIO device and to find another one. Well, it's the ONLY one in the 'hardware playback' dialog so I'm stuck.
Did you have any trouble installing PT10 and getting it to work? Can you describe exactly how you installed PT10 and the 2626 drivers...and any other drivers you installed? I intend to contact Avid tomorrow but saw you got a very similar setup to work. Thank you very much. Sorry I cannot help with your problem. |

Re: Issues with H/W buffer size, using Profire 2626 and PT10 HELP!
I had to change the buffer size on my ASIO card to get the demo to play. 256 was too small. My PCI card supports a 4096 buffer, but I got assertion errors instead of the polite warning you are getting. I found the demo played fine with a buffer of 512, 1024 or 2048 (Dual CPU Opteron with 10GB memory).
