11.1 greys out a few workspace folders

Dont get it... I can play them from my desktop browser, so theyre there... never moved them

deleted pref

cant even "import audio" into the session of the files..

but can play them in itunes etc..
why would this happen and can we make it not ?

I copied the files to another drive... made a new folder in the orig place and put them back and its good... but what a pain and why only certain ones?

Might be the unique id. How did you try to delink them? Also make sure pt 11's database is updated for the folder you aren't ruin gt o delink in. So if the audio is on the decktop, before you relink, open the workspace browser and right click the desktop folder and select update database.

Nor sure if this is related, but in the past I'd followed Avid's recommendation to disable OS X Spotlight on audio drives. Now in the PT 11.1.1 read my I noticed the following (contrary) suggestions re. the workspace:

Enable Spotlight for best performance when relinking files and indexing in the Workspace (PTSW-183818)
For best performance with relinking and Workspace indexing, enable Spotlight. While enabling Spotlight is not required, it will improve performance in this area with Pro Tools.
When Spotlight is enabled, long record passes (over 50 minutes) may stop recordings after 50+ minutes. Consider disabling Spotlight for long recording sessions and then re-enable it when you are done recording.

This seems to work very well for me as it does for the Workspace.

Yes but it states for relinking so it would seem relinking only not for recording mixing etc.
