But really, what would be better with 7.4 over 7.3?

Hi,
Not sure whether you’re referring to the interface issue or 7.4.

O.K., well I definitely remember that when 7.4 came out all hell broke loose with Midi timing issues, and it seems to me that they never really solved it. I know 7.4 had more bells and whistles, but the timing issues made it unworkable for a lot of people. I had 7.3 running like a top, and I decided against jumping into what looked like a snake pit with 7.4.

I do think I produced some sessions in large studios where they were running 7.4, but that was audio-only tracking stuff, synced to 2-inch.

7.3 sessions should open fine in your new rig. I had to open a few myself recently. The only caveat may be some missing plug-ins of course.

Hi,

Yeah, older sessions open (even older than 7). The problem is the SDII audio files are not recognized. So you have to convert them using an older version that will”see” them. The last version with that functionality is 10.

Opinions do vary; mine is that 7.2 was the best (as in most stable)

How about Audaptor that costs 1.99 and does batch converting for you?
