Default Pro tools Le crossgrade

About two months ago i got windows 7, and could no longer use my protools 7.4 with 003 Rack due to it not being supported.
I decided to upgrade to protools 9, so i purchased the crossgrade online, the problem is on the bottom of the hardware where the serial number for the hardware is, over time the sticker is faded so i can no longer read the number

Is there anywhere else on the hardware, or can be accessed through the computer to find out the hardwares serial number so i can download the software i have purchased? i tried sending a customer support thing to the store, but they said i have to contact avid, can anyone give me any tips
or point me in the right direction on what to do next? im only a casual user and havnt done much in the way of protools since 7.4, so im not sure of the procedures to go through in this situiation

any help is greatly appreciated

if you still have your 003R box the S/N sticker should be on there as well, at least mine was.

If you are like me you would have written down your serial numbers some where, so perhaps you did, and just forgot.

If you registered your 003 you should be able to call Avid Customer service and retrieve your S/N from them.

ill have to check for my box, but have had it for so many years i doubt it, i never wrote the hardware serial number, down as i didnt know i would be needing it, and under my acc it doesnt seem to be registered even though i sent away for it years ago

I'm just stuck becuase i no longer know how to get into contact with avid, as i havnt dealt with them since years ago, when it was alot simpler in there smaller customers could still get in contact with there support easier

How did you purchase the crossgrade without the hardware SN?

Don't you remember people were complaining that the online purchase takes your money then ask for the s/n.
If that is the case then that would explain the purchase.

I'm just trying to figure out why the OP doesn't just contact Avid, it's still as easy or hard as it ever was.

how do you contact avid, im in australia and cant find a number or an email anywhere, maybe im just blind, the only support i can find seems to have to be bought online through the store?

Call the number on the right next to "registration". Support for registration/activation issues are free (though long distance charges are not).
