Default Core audio driver for OS9?

I heard somewhere that there might be a core audio driver for OS9. Does anyone know if this is true? I'd love to be able to play iTunes through my 888/24's. Thanks in advance for the help! (OS9.2.2/PT 5.1.3)

it's called the digidesign sound drivers. download it on the download page.
