Default Best aftermarket Tubes...

I'm wondering what are the best tubes out there in others opinions. In particular I have a Rode NTK that may require a new tube, and I want one thats not noisy and that sounds warm, but not muddy. I'd love to have a bunch of different tubes to exchange for different sounds however. I also have a TL Audio C1 that needs new tubes.

Thanks!

All depends on what type of tube you need. Check with guitar amp builders and shops -- they generally have good stock. In general, NOS american tubes (GE, RCA, Sylvania) are best, but they continue to get more scarce and hence, more expensive. Russia and other eastern block countries have been making some decent new stuff over the past years too, but it varies model to model. In general, the Chinese stuff is the worst (and typically what comes in most less expensive tube gear).

If you can pick up a Mullard WWII era NOS Military grade tube, jump on it.
Cleanest tubes I have ever heard.

Mullard made warm tubes, but I wouldn't call them "clear." They are great though. Telefunken tubes from the same time period are cleaner, but not as warm. Both are good options.
