For less than half of what has been said in this thread I've seen some developers work non-stop for weeks

Midi, Midi, Midi + easier Comping. Pro Tools is known for audio but Comping is clunky. Check out Cubase comping. Do something similar but with Pro Tools common sense. Need to be able to quickly select different sections in different playlists and then all selections are heard/compiled automatically. No need to manually "Copy Selection to Main Playlist" = Clunky. Cubase has a Comping Tool. Come on Avid I know you can do it. Sometime, Somehow.

Midi is the reason why I went to Studio One. Pro Tools' midi kills all of my creativity unfortunately. After all of my creating in S1, I do come back to Pro Tools to mix and track. I hate switching DAWs but it is what it is I suppose. Avid please please please improve your midi so those of us using multiple DAWs can stay loyal to you.

Having been a user of Pro Tools since PT 24, I, like many, never used anything midi related with PT because it wasn't available and then when it became available it was rudimentary and could no hold up to Logic/Performer in that arena. These many years later PT is still lagging behind in this area. Still fine for me because I still don't use PT for VI's/Midi.

The issue is that now Logic (especially the latest updates) and the other DAWs have closed the gap on PT on the audio/mixing side for a fraction of the investment. You get so much for $199 with Logic. I have moved over to Logic 80% of the time. And took the time to learn a new daw, Live.

I find myself using Digital Performer whenever i really need to get into the Midi aspect of scoring. I started on that way back and it's been very stable, with a few hiccups in the early 2000's. Then those got ironed out. G
