UVI Synth Anthology 3 is Released

UVI has released Synth Anthology 3. Until Nov 11, there's a special upgrade price.

I picked it up yesterday but haven’t had a chance to check it out yet. For $49 to upgrade, it’s pretty much a no-brainer for me.

Haha That Video is from a Synth Museum. Been here and most hardware synths are badly worn and missing knobs and bad connections from the motherboard unfortunately. But it is impressive to see like 3 Synclavier in one place

I think I'm picking this one up this week before the sale runs out on the 11th. I mean for $49, how could you go wrong?

Dont think you can go wrong as even if you only use 1 VI it is $49

I didn't have the previous version but grabbed this on day two. $99 and been having fun with it. I love the way they categorized the presets in different ways. Particularly by synth manufacturer/model.

Do you think it is ”better” or ”different but as good” as Arturias offerings? We have quite a few of the hardware synths they modelled and we use Arturias V7 sometimes but VI gets less and less use these days.

With the Arturia stuff you have access to the actual synth whereas with UVI's synths you don't. UVI samples certain patches made on the hardware. Which means for a Moog Modular patch in Arturia's version you get to tweak the actual oscillators, filters, change routing, etc. With UVI you only get to tweak the patches sound but not the basic structure of said sound.


That being said I do like Falcon for the way you can layer and tweak sounds inside the program that you really can't do in an Arturia synth. You just have to spend some time drilling down in the 'tree' section at the left of the Falcon gui. FYI I don't use the built-in fx in any of Arturia's synths. Falcon can be layers upon layers upon layers with fx if you want and the cpu hit ain't all that bad.
