I always close and exit protools and then unplug my Mbox after every session. Do I really need to do this? It's such a hassle to plug it back in and re-launch ProTools everyday. ProTools takes soooooooo loooooooong to open.

Does anyone out there leave their system up and running with ProTools open 24/7? Have you had any problems doing so?

From past posts, I read that some people leave their Pro Tools system & studio on 24 hours a day 365 days a week with no problem. Actually turning something on and off does more wear and tear on electronics then leaving it on all the time.

Potentially, yes... solid state electronics.

However, anything involving moving parts (fan's, harddrive's, etc.) do have useful life limits that are decreased by continuous use.
