Default Octopre Mkii connected to external analogue gear?

I feel like I'm missing something here. I've been trying to set my Avalon 737sp up as an insert point within PT 10. So far I haven't had any luck.

SO, this is what I have:

Saffire Pro 40 - Octopre Mkii via ADAT (latest mc software)
Avalon Line out - Octopre In 7
Avalon Line in - Octopre Out 7
PT i/o - Mono insert Saffire 19 (optical)
Insert on Vox track
Mix control - ADAT output 7 - DAW 19

I get no input to my Avalon. If I set one of the faders within MC to DAW 19, the vox track shows up there. I know I'm missing a step, and for the life of me, I cannot figure it out. The only thing I can think of is that you're not able to use ADAT & Analogue outs in this manner. Thinking the work around is to use the Saffire so I can set the outputs to proper level using 'Monitor' out. This changes my whole set up though, as I have multiple monitors set up, headphone mixes, and click track all occupying those outputs.

Anyone have any ideas?

I'm guessing no one is using this device in the method Everyone else on here can attest to the 'excellent' customer support focusrite has :P Messages sent to both the focusrite site and personally to one of the reps that frequents here. My assumption is that it is not possible with an Octopre Mkii but is likely possible with a Dynamic or running a second Saffire Pro40.

Why not just use it either in front of the signal (record to tape)

Or

Use it post recording (send and return in PT)

I do intend on using it to tape, but have signals that I'd like to route to it after the fact (post) That is exactly what I'm trying to do. Dan from focusrite actually got back to me this morning. This is the limitations of the Octopre Mkii, it ONLY mirrors in the inputs. Being able to use this devices outs solely as a line out from your DAW is NOT possible. In order to this, you need to have the Dynamic version of the Mkii.

Thanks to Focusrite for confirming what I thought...but it's a sad day for being able to hook my Avalon up as a Hardware Insert Unless I opt to give up a Headphone send, Mixer send, or Monitor output on my Saffire
