Default How can I import standard midi files in Pro Tools LE?

Hi,

I'm brand new in Pro Tools. Can you advise me on the easiest way to import standard midi files into Pro Tool LE, where I can get each instrument on it's own track?

Thanks!

usually a midi file is arranged into tracks anyway,
all you need to do is create enough midi tracks in your session and drag the midi file onto the first one. The subsequent midi file tracks should appear on the following tracks.

Make sure the file you want to import is the right type of SMF...standard midi file.

Which would be the correct MIDI file type and which would be the wrong type?

Thanks Guy's! Appreciate it!

A downloaded SMF shouldn't be a problem. File type applies when you export your own midi file. No particular wrong type...just throwing out ideas, as I'm not sure if your using your own created files or downloaded ones.
