Default How to move several regions at once

In a project I'm working on, the entire piece begins with no intro...all instrumentation and the vocals come in at beat one. Artistically, I've decided I don't like that and I know want to insert a 4 measure intro to ease into the piece better. I have several tracks with several regions each through the entire song. I can't see how to grab all regions across all tracks and just slide the whole shooting match over 4 measures so I can insert an intro part at the front end. Can this be done?

Probably the easiest way to get the results you're after is to just "Insert Time".

Alternatively you could "select all" and drag the regions, or you could use the object grabber and marquee all the regions.

hope that helps.

thanks, that was it. I couldn't remember what the function was called to look it up in the manual search.

You could also make a group of all audio tracks and then dragging any will move them all.

Insert time is best. Or you could group all the regions.
Easiest way to do this is tab on to the start of the earliest track and shift drag to highlight the rest. Or select all in the group enables window, tab to the front and hit shift+option+return to select the entire piece.
Make sure when you're moving regions this way that "automation follows edit" is enabled in the options menu.

Or select all and Spot to bar 5.

Gotta love that there are multiple right answers to questions like this.

Don't forget region groups too!

Thanks, guys. Appreciate it. Funny story using the Time Insert function. I used it on a recent project, but when I played it back, I noticed one of the tracks was completely out of sync now. I couldn't figure out why...and kept undoing and re-doing it. Then I realized the offending track...an instrument track...was still in Note view and not Region view. Has to be in Region view to move!

Yeah, the view setting should not make a difference.
