Default Re: digi 002 rack with windows 7/64 options?

So I've done everything seemingly according to procedure for Win7 64 & my 002 rack, which I have not yet connected - but nobody has mentioned
1. whether you should nuke all the non-002 rack drivers if you are not going to use them (Mbox varieties, Eleven Rack)
2. whether the rack should show up in 'Sounds' at all - or as a control panel applet, which several of the other devices seem to have. I can't see any sign of it there, although it is clearly listed in 'Programs and Features'.

Thanks!

You will get a flashing 1394 light... This is progress. Use the 8.04 installer to repair your installation and when it's finished you boot into Pro Tools and get a firewire lock. Hope this'll help someone.
It's 2014 and setting up the 002 family with 64 Bit Windows 7 is still a "nightmare"... I haven't slept for 3 days trying to simply get Windows to recognize my 002 Console. But, I've tried almost everything else so, i'll try chrisbrooks recommendation asap then follow up... Keeping my fingers crossed!!!

Thanks for any help and have a nice day!

P.S OS Win7 x64 and programms installed in 32bit mode.It means i'm working in 32bit.
Midi ports are easy as you can buy a simple USB-MIDI interface. I have been very happy with my MOTU FastLane USB 2x2(used it alongside an 002, and 003 and still using it with HDN). Back to bitterkitten, there is no reason to have drivers for hardware you don't have. But you still need to figure out if the 002 actually works(power harness issue? Burnt FW port?)
