Default off topic-MY FAST BURNER WITH A SLOW COMPUTER-can it work??

lately I've been burning and copying cd's alot after recording sessions. I have my fast drives on my fast computer(1ghz). but my fast computer gets tied up when i burn. I also have a 166mhz PI computer and am wondering if I can use my 16x burner and 32x rom drive for making fast copies and data cds.

Can the slow computer handle the fast transfer rates when I copy? My burning software can translate mp3s to CD audio files on the fly when it makes audio CDs. Should the PI 166mhz be able to handle that? More importantly, does anyone else here use a slow computer with fast burners?? please respond guys.

It should work....just do some tests. Maybe you wont be able to burn at the full speed the burner can handle, but i think almost every burning-program has the ability to choose a burning-speed.
