Good here for the last week or so since I updated. I skipped the last few updates and went from 12.6.2. to 12.8.2, but like the 12.8.3 much better. Seems more stable and I am still running Sierra 10.12.6.

Overall really good. Feels really smooth and much fewer crashes for me.

I have found some bugs. For example, if you try to delete a playlist in playlist view by right clicking on it and saying delete, it will crash Pro Tools for me.

While they say they fixed the sustain pedal bug. I'm not certain it is working 100% on MIDI Merge. I have to do some more testing though.

I find quite a few of the newer features of Pro Tools still pretty buggy though. But they haven't been great on any version yet. For example, the Layers Editing button is unpredictable for me. I can't get it to do this: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3U4T2I7dFYI .
Instead, mine works like this:
https://youtu.be/doRwEYUB1ok

The new recording red when you punch in on MIDI recordings seems weird and unpredictable to me.

I wish they would allow you to move frozen clips. I get why they don't allow editing them, but moving them would be very helpful and shouldn't cause too many problems.

The "Send Fully Overlapped Clips to Available Playlist While Recording" shows that it is going to send small fade sections of clips which is weird and sometimes it says it is going to send a full clip that isn't truly overlapped but was included in the section of recording if you count for pre-roll and post roll.

I actually wish "Send Fully Overlapped Clips..." actually just automatically moved the recordings to new playlists without requiring them to be overlapped. That way you could use your main playlist for comping and know that all of your takes are being neatly stored away in the playlists. The current method allows for parts to still get easily lost as you record over sections that don't get completely overlapped.

Anyways, this feels like the best Pro Tools 12 for me. I just hope they get a lot of these new features refined and keep squashing the bugs.

Not good here. I'm on Windows 7 (64bit Ultimate).

Getting frequent access violation error messages in both 12.8.2 and 12.8.3.
It's a workflow killer having to restart PT every 5 minutes.

Have rolled back to 12.8.1.

Same on Windows 10. But it's an inconsistent bug. I worked four straight hours on a documentary yesterday without a single access violation. Other times it will pop up early in a session. I'm sticking with it despite the bug because everything else—including video sync—is really stable.

Interesting! No crashes or persistent error messages? What hardware are you running Win10 on? Do you run large sessions with lots of VI's?

12.8.3 runs pretty well here on HighSierra.
I'm getting an occasional AAE -9171 error.
This appears pretty soon after loading a session and letting it play for a couple of seconds.
I had even one -9171 error while PT wasn't playing. It popped up out of nothing.

In all cases, CPU usage was lower than 10%.

I'm having about 2 crashes per day (not related to -9171 error) - sometimes while PT does an AutoSave and I'm pressing a transport button at the d-command ... and sometimes "just so" ... but that's ok for as it's bout 2 times per day only.

OS, PT and all PlugIns were installed "from scratch" bout 2 weeks ago.
