Digi 002 console with Logic 9 question(s)
Greetings from the frigid northeast:
I'm a newbie, and am attempting to use Logic 9 with a Digi 002 console. I've downloaded the Core Audio driver from Digidesign site, and also the Combo Update for Mac OSX. I'm running Firewire 400 from the console to a Firewire 800 adapter going to the Mac. (hope that covers it...) My goal is to record more than 2 tracks simultaneously, preferably 5-8 total. I guess the first question is, "is this possible?" I created a new project in Logic, and chose 8 tracks in ascending order. The inputs are set sequentially, 1 thru 8. Only inputs 1 & 2 show any signs of signal when I test them, leading me to think that this might be the maximum allowed? Any assistance with this is greatly appreciated. I honestly have been downloading drivers and updating software, rebooting, etc for the past 5 hours and am scratching my head. I hope this is the correct forum, on top of all this. If not, please forgive my ignorance. It's not for lack of trying! MacBook Pro 2.53 Intel Core 2 Duo 4 GB RAM OS X Snow Leopard 10.6.8 Digidesign Digi 002 Logic 9 |

Re: Digi 002 console with Logic 9 question(s)
You are posting in a Pro Tools 10 section of the DUC. You might get better help over on a Apple Logic Forum, or at least in the 002/003 section of DUC.
And yes the 002 is capable of this with Logic, you are doing something wrong. I would start by googling for info on this on Logic and Apple forums. Darryl |

Yeah, I've been looking everywhere I can and only posted here as a last resort.
I'm on Apple right now hoping to get some assistance. Thanks for pointing out that I'm in the wrong forum. Pretty much sums up the past 7 hrs. |

Re: Digi 002 console with Logic 9 question(s)
I selected (Digidesign HW 002) in the Input and Output tabs under Core Audio and Devices in the Logic Sys Pref. Should have mentioned that, thanks.
Digidesign 002 is also selected in Sys. Pref on the Mac HD. I'm using a mic to test for signal. I pick it up for Inputs 1 and 2 and that is all that the Input drop down menu allows me. I have 8 tracks total in ascending order, but only 1 and 2 are active. |
