Default 4k display scaling

I am using Pro Tools 12 on a laptop with 4k resolution. Everything was working fine until suddenly, when I opened pro tools, the scale of the display was off, with everything being very small. If I change the display settings of my monitor and lower the resolution, I can get things back to a manageable size. However, since the program was working fine before this, it seems that it should be possible to use pro tools without having to change my resolution settings every time before I open it. Any ideas?
