Default "Be There" - Who does it?

Anyone know who the artist is on that "Be There" tune for the Pro Tools demo? It's darned catchy.

Look at the FREE Pro Tools PTLE DVD Movie and you will see who they are.
You can order the DVD on line.

PT 5.0 Reference Guide page 316. A picture of "RealAudio G2 Settings" dialog says it´s David Lebolt...

By the way, I thought it was too Oasis-y...

There's NO WAY that's Dave Lebolt.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Arial">Well, maybe you can watch the part you're talking about and get back to me with an answer?

I don't think it's David Lebolt either. He's a session keyboardist who's played with the likes of Billy Joel. I mean, I suppose it's possible.....

We're trying to figure out if he's the Indian, the Construction Worker, or the new CEO/General Manager of Digidesign...

Hi... the artist on "Be There" is a guy named Geoff Stanfield, who used to be a member of a Bay Area band called "Black Lab." Geoff's a multi-instrumentalist and songwriter... A couple of years ago, when this material came into Digi, it was not mixed (it was just a basic demo; I didn't record it, and was trying to help make it sound good for the purposes of a demo for Digi).

It didn't contain a bunch of the elements that appeared in the final demo (a simple version of which is provided to check out your Pro Tools system).

So I added some musical elements (loops and some synth stuff) and mixed it. After that, Geoff Stanfield, the drummer (Dave Revelli), and myself started to collaborate on a bunch of music together, which has been great.

BTW, Erik and some other people have had a great time teasing me about my past gigs. All fine and good... I can take some teasing (when my band lost our record deal with CBS, I did play briefly in the backup band for the Village People as one of the things I did... had to pay the rent !)

But I did play with a lot of folks other the ones mentioned here, and my musical career is all over the map, including a nice album and tour with Laurie Anderson, and a tour with David Bowie (the "Serious Moonlight" tour) that was a great experience as a musician. Before coming to Digi, I worked as a keyboardist/producer/composer/arranger in NY, and toured and recorded in the NY studio scene for a good long while...

Thanks for asking about Geoff's music... hopefully soon you'll be able to hear some new stuff that we've worked on that is a bit different... (but probably not as Digi demo material).
