Default easy drummer,easy short cut!

Hi. After much trial and error dealing with ezdrummer2, I've found a method that suits my needs perfectly. I'm old school rock and roll so for right now I'm not interested in all the stuff that drummers probably would consider essential such as fills, intros etc. You know, simple and commercial. I open ezd, and select the tap tempo screen for kick, snare & hi hat individually, then, tap in the timing for each. I drag one measure of each to the song creator at the song start measure and then to my protools timeline for each track. Then I can copy and paste each to the full length of the song. Each drum part is quantized perfectly. I know this is super simplistic but it works for me. Now I need to find a way to add rolls, fills, etc. where needed. possibly additional tracks. It just occurred to me that I've probably posted this in the wrong category so mister moderators please feel free to move it to it's appropriate section. A simple solution for a simple mind!

What I used to do(been working with mostly real drums lately) was to find fills in the EZdrummer library and drag/drop several onto the timeline, but well past the end of the song. I would then pick and choose which fills(and often just small pieces of them) and copy/paste into the song where needed.

In case this sounds a bit cryptic, some of the fills from the library are a full measure and 2 measures, but I may only need a half measure fill

I do something similar to Albee's technique, except I will add a midi track directly above my EZDrummer track. It's to this midi track that I drag my potential fills from EZ Midi. I drag them above the part of the EZDrummer track that they may be placed.

EZHorses for EZCourses!

Thanks,

Can't you do that all in EZ and then drag it all into PT?

GregJ and albee. Thanks for both of your comments and suggestions. They both seem to be the method I need to approach embellishing my drum parts. I also failed to mention that I have successfully solved how to record each drum piece in Midi and then transpose each to Audio tracks via busses. I know this seems remedial to you guys but pardon me if I boast a little! Thanks again.
