Default Air Creative install problems [solved]

Good afternoon all,

Finally have time to run some tests in OS X 10.10 with PT 11.3

System:
Late 2012 MBP i72.6gHz, 8gig Ram OSX 10.10 w/ clean install of PT 11.3
Waves plugs = working

Test system drive:

USB 3 Seagate BU plus (no-problems in the past using these as test drives)

Audio drive:

Glyph GPT50 via FW800

Interface:

Saffire Pro 40 w/Adat locked OctoPre via daisy chain FW400/800

So here is what I did:

- Install OSX 10.10 on clean partition
- Optimized OSX
- Installed Saffire Mix Control
- Installed iLok manager
- Installed Pro Tools 11.3
- Tested the system - opened various sessions both audio and post, no problems

- Installed Waves V9 (offline installer)
- Tested the system - playback issues ALL DISTORTED
- Turned the system off and went to bed
- Tested the system the next day, sessions loaded up fine - NO PLAYBACK problems

Here's where I'm stumped:

- Installed Air Creative 11.1
- Tested system and get distorted playback
- Restart = No change
- Repair permissions = No Change
- Complete shut down = No Change
- Moved all plugins to 'Unused' folder = Problem solved

I tried to search on here for answers, but it's like looking for a needle in a haystack...especially since 11.3 only came out a few days ago. Anyone see where I may be making a fatal error? Should've I installed the Air first before PT's?

Cheers

Default Re: Air Creative install problems {SOLVED}

Ha! After I hit return on my post I realized I never tried trashing my Prefs!!!

Trashed prefs using the helper, repaired permissions, restarted...viola!

Now on to testing Mini V

Bah, jumped the gun. So far my tests have resulted in having to trash the Prefs/Databases and rebooting everytime I want to use Pt's. I'm guessing the best option will be to wipe the drive and try again?

I know the culprit is the Air Creative instruments, when I move them to the Unused folder everything zips along.

Confirmed, Xpand!2 is the culprit! I'm a little unfamiliar with this synth as I rarely use it, but needed to mock up a strings idea for one of our new songs. I'm wondering if it's related to this being a USB3 test drive from Seagate which I would assume is 5400rpm.

Anyone have any insight? When I put only the Xpand!2 instrument in the unused folder Pro Tools boots up and runs without distortion.
