Default A great idea for the DUC

How about Avid setting up the system of signing up to include the Help us Help you section and make new users sign off on each paragraph I know I'll get a lot of grief for this, but it sure feels like the newbies.............never mind

Completely agreed and definitely something we're trying to get implemented (or something similar).

Lack of information, as you know, is THE biggest problem with trying to provide assistance.

Until we get something like that implemented, I'm taking a bit more aggressive approach to threads that do not provide the necessary details right off the bat. Obviously given that I'm not here 24 hours a day we're going to miss a lot of them, but I'm hoping that by doing so with the ones I can get to people will start to see them and 'get the message'.

For anyone reading this that is wondering 'why isn't my support question getting answered' - did you provide ALL the details asked for and/or do any of the troubleshooting indicated in those threads?

I think its a great idea, too. And I'm glad that Digitech support is on it!

One additional suggestion I have would be to make the search features of the Avid knowledge base a bit more user friendly. I often find it difficult to find something and it is usually because I'm not using the exactly correct search terms. If I as an experienced PT user run into that, its gotta be worse for a newbie. Maybe have some kind of front end that lists in plain English all the common error messages, and then have options to click here if you are running Win XP, here for Win 7, Here for Mac etc etc. Might make it easier to find the right articles.
