Video File Disappears when capturing with Mojo SDI
Repost from another thread:
Just upgraded to 8.0.4 on 10.6.3 HD system Mojo SDI hardware. When locking to a video machine and capturing video into my session everything functions as normal until I stop playback. At that moment the video and audio files that I was just recording, viewing, and listening to disappear. I've noticed that while its recording i can see on my video drive that it creates the file but it appears to be HUGE...like hundreds of gigs... then when playback is stopped it disappears. It reminds me of the (command .) function while recording but thats not at all what im doing. any ideas or further questions to help out. thanks steve Further information: Record allocation is set to 30 minutes. Using a separate internal video drive. Video and Audio can be captured Wild. Audio only can be captured locked to serial time code When capturing Video locked to serial time code the files appear to be recording as normal and I can see and hear through the mojo but when the deck is stopped or pro tools is stopped the files delete themselves from the sesssion as well as from the disk and I can see the .part files being created on both the audio drive and the video drive during capture but they simply disappear upon stoppage. Using 9 pin to transmit time code so i am not positioning with LTC at all. |

Do you have the Mojo locked to blackburst/house sync?

Re: Video File Disappears when capturing with Mojo SDI
I have house sync looping through a digi beta to the reference in of the mojo.
Should I hardwire the reference in to my sync DA? This was set up by a tech and I just got back there to check it out now. The black ref cable going to the mojo says word clock on the label though. Can I hard wire this directly to my sync generator? |

Yes, I would try that. If it's labeled Word Clock, it may be that it's being sent that instead of black/house.

Re: Video File Disappears when capturing with Mojo SDI
Fed the Mojo sync directly from the generator. Same sync that the Sync HD and the Digi are getting. Same problem.
Again, weirdly will function normal when not chasing the deck but when recording video locked to TC the files disappear upon stoppage. As if the Command Period kill key was being applied to the file. |

Re: Video File Disappears when capturing with Mojo SDI
Have you tried the basics like trashing preferences? What about reinstalling the Video Engine option from the Pro Tools installer for the version you're running?
Can you tell me which lights are lit or not lit and what color they are on the front of the Mojo? |

Re: Video File Disappears when capturing with Mojo SDI
Did trash preferences and other basic trouble shooting techniques.
This was an eligible upgrade to PT 8 from 7.4.2 and was just a download. I don't have a PT 8 install disc. Could I use the video engine from PT 7 disc or is there another way of downloading the latest version of the video engine for my system Mojo has 48K, Ref, Host, Power all illuminated blue. |

Re: Video File Disappears when capturing with Mojo SDI
This happens to me every couple of months. No one's been able to figure out why.
I've found that the files have been recorded, they just don't show in the timeline. If I close and re-open the session, I can then import the video from the drive I recorded to. It beats re-recording a 60min piece of video! JJ |

Re: Video File Disappears when capturing with Mojo SDI
You should be able to redownload it from your MyAvid account - I usually recommend keeping the downloaded installer in a safe place, in case you need it, rather than having to download it again.

Re: Video File Disappears when capturing with Mojo SDI
I reinstalled the avid video engine from the PT 8 installer.. Now when it gets to the loading video engine section of launch i get a "segmentation fault" in threat "main thread", at address 0x0 message and then pro tools quits during the setting up video engine process
i trashed preferences rebooted both the mojo and the computer and tried several more times.. same deal |
