Sorry for bumping this thread again, but i just had to say hackintoshes are indeed legal. Gotta love the new digital millennium copyright act ;D the same thing that made jailbreaking ones iphone legal. Doesn't matter what Apples EULA says.

Yes, you're right. They are legal if you build it yourself, they just aren't legal to sell.

Yea I purchased Snow Leopard, like a consumer would, installed it on my MAC and Pc. All legal smeagle, and like I said on identical hardware its slicker than W7 and XP. Crapp I'd install it on my toaster oven if it would make toast better.
And truth be told, the pc w/osx runs more rtas, than my actual MAC pro. Both quads, one q6600, other, xeon 3ghz, same amount of RAM, WD drives, etc. Go figure huh?
