Unhappy ICY Dock MB662USEB-2S via esata?

Hi,

Since the Raidsonic ST3620-2S-S2 enclosure I used as a carrier for my external drives keeps killing the drives I recently bought the new Icy Dock MB662USEB-2S Dual bay enclosure. Using the Fireire port to connect it everything is fine but as soon as I connect it via esata through my Sonnet Tempo Sata Express 34 either the MacBook Pro will not mount or when switching on the device after mounting the spinball of death will appear.
Anybody else having this problem or some advice?

I have one WD Caviar Black and one Caviar blue inserted (1TB each).
The disks are brand new.
I'm on a 2007 MBPro (3.1) 6GB ram running OSX 10.6.8

Thanks!!

Matthias
