Default Advice, please

Hi. I'm in Japan, and year or so I ago I bought an M-Audio Fast Track Ultra, which came with Pro Tools M-Powered Essential (8.02), but I never had an interest in trying out Pro Tools until now; I've been getting by using Audacity. The other day I decided to install Pro Tools on my Sony Vaio PC and have been giving it a try, but I notice there are lots of features that are disabled in the M-Powered Essential. I am considering upgrading to a full(er)-featured version of Pro Tools and installing it on my MacBook Pro, but first I have a few questions. Perhaps someone can help me out.

I want to be able to edit audio documentaries that I produce, and to be able to do all the things that Audacity can do (and hopefully a lot more). Will M-Powered Essential suffice?

If I should get a fuller-featured version, would that be considered an "upgrade" from M-Powered Essential?

I've noticed that there are a lot of posts about people having trouble with Pro Tools on a Mac. What should I buy so I get a stable version?

Last of all, where should I buy it so I get an English-language version (and a fair price)? On my PC, I installed M-Powered Essential, which I got with the Fast Track Ultra purchased in Japan, and when installing I thought I chose English, but it installed with the menus all in Japanese.

Pro tools essential is a watered down version of pro tools for those who are mainly beginners to recording (at least that's my thought on it) It doesn't have nearly the same amount of features as you would get from the full version, which in turn doesn't have the same amount of features that you get from using the cptk or HD. It depends on your needs really, which is hard to see by just your post.

You'll actually get a more stable version.. or at least less of a headache, using pro tools from a mac, since most mac are the same versus a million of permutation with pc's parts. So just check this to be sure your macbook pro fits the minimum required specification. If it's higher than that, then you should be good to go.
