Finding audio files after transferring all floders to another hard drive

I just transferred all files and folders to another hard drive- now when I open up a session, it can't find any of the audio files.

I try to use Sherlock when finding the audio files, however my system works best when Sherlock is deactivated- does anyone know the Apple extension in the extension manager to turn Sherlock on so I can find these audio files and hear my songs again?

All you have to do is when it comes up asking for stuff hit search. It should then come up with the first one it asks for and then should know where all the rest of them are.

Yes I do hit search, but I have to manually find it, it never finds it for me. So I basically have to use Sherlock to find the file on the drive, however I just upgraded to Mac OS 8.6, and Sherlock doesn't work anymore, matter of fact my DVD drive doesn't work either... but that's not my concern.

Is there a program that can fix this? Should I up grade to 9.0? Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm missing 9 gigs.

What version of Pro Tools are you using ?

in 5.1.1 the internal search engine works very well.

I may be wrong but don't you need os 9 for 5.1.1, in which case you are best going for 9.1, or 9.2, what machine are you running, G3's and above wil be fine with OS 9.2, and even X, I can't speak for 9600's but I'm sure there are those out there who can. Also if you are going to upgrade, which I would if I knew my machine could handle it, it's probably worth doing a completely fresh install, or at the least a clean install

I have a G3 350 - Blue & white, PT 5.0, and MAC OS 8.6- I guess I need to upgrade my version of PT's- but that won't help
Logic. I think OS 8.6 is fine- it's just that when I pull up Sherlock - I get an error message reading missing OTUlib - not sure what this means??

The easiest way to find out where your files have gone is to click on the grey box saying "audio" above the region list, then select "show full pathnames". If you then expand the window to see all the text, it'll tell you exactly where it expects the files to be. Helped me out on many an occasion because if your disks haven't all been recently indexed, Sherlock may not find the files. Good luck!
