Default Fast Track C400 input question

Hello,

I have a Avid Fast Track C400 here which should have 4 inputs. Im using a Yamaha AN1X connected to it and works fine using either the front or back parts. Soon however I will be buying a virus C, which I want to be connected simultaneously. But how does this work? I mean theres 2 mic inputs on the back and 2 'instrument inputs' on the front. But I can only pick one of those is that correct? The front/rear button either activates the front ports or the back ones. How do i use them all 4 at the same time if this is possible?
Thanks in advance,
Dharion

Your 3 and 4 inputs are the L/R SPDIF inputs. I don't see SPDIF out on either the Virus C or the Yamaha, so I don't think you'll be able to connect both at the same time to a C400..

Thanks for the quick answer. Ooh damn, so those 2 inputs on the front and 2 on the back cant be used at the same time? Indeed no spdif on both devices.

The inputs on the front are instrument level inputs 1/2, the inputs on the rear are mic/line level inputs 1/2. The input source (back panel Mic/Line, or front panel Instrument) is chosen using the corresponding Front/Rear Input button for each channel.

Oh okay so that means they can't be used simultaneously. Then I know enough. Thanks :)
