Default New HD PCI cards, 4x the power

Is it possible that Digidesign will upgrade the HD card to allow for more plugins with less cards?

Maybe you are on to something Jimmy and they don't want you to keep talking about it.

Funny though I have been posting about this on and off for almost a year now.

hi,

I'm waiting for so long that i don't want to change my PCI HD cards for PCIe HD ones now.
What are the future conventions that could be possible for Digi to annonce new cards ??

thanks.

mik

It seems that also Digidesign does not want you to do the crossgrade if you simply aren't forced to do so. The crossgrade pricing is very high which is one of the reasons why people are waiting for the next generation cards to appear.

Sit tight

I'm coming from the 'I need a Mac Pro very soon to run Logic 8' school of thought. I can't bring myself to exchange my HD from PCI to PCIe - the total cost is just not worth it for so little benefit. I'm either waiting for some impressive new hardware too or I'm getting out all together I'm afraid (even though I'm loving the look of 7.4).

The DUC is the Digidesign User Conference, for technical discussions and user to user support of Digidesign products and development partner products that are used with Digi products. While we try to be as open minded as possible, we do request that folks not post direct links to competitive products on our forums. Thanks for your consideration.

I apologize I meant the mention of such a product to generate discussion and possibly point Digi to such hardware, which I am sure you are probably aware of, but it was not my intention to promote a competing product.
