Default Re: Pro Tools 12.5 on OS 10.8.5?

I'm still running 10.8.5 - since installing 12.5, PT crashes when i open a new session - it happens as the previous session closes ... almost every time. didn't happen in 12.4.

Based on the reports here, can we conclude or assume that it's best to wait with the 12.5 upgrade unless you are willing to upgrade to El Cap (which still has some issues) at the same time?

I experienced playhead GUI errors when trying 12.5 on 10.8.5. Reverted back to 12.4 and I'm ok for now.

Thanks Benny.

If it matters I haven't seen any problems with 10.8.5, except a couple of plugs seem to automatically trigger 'memory overload' errors. Hit ok and keep on working, as the error really isn't an error but a false error easily dismissed by PT.

No graphics, thruput, audio, file management, noise problems...anything

No as I mentioned above, I'm rockin Yosemite now and so far it's working great. I'm not going up to El Cap, afraid of the GUI issues. I'm thinking that 10.10.5 is the way to go. Major performance increases for me.

Interesting! I'm on a 5,1 mac pro as well, and currently using 12.4 with OS 10.8.5 and had been holding off on trying the new version, but this makes me curious to try....

Do you have any sense as to whether your performance increase is a result of going to 12.5, or OS 10.10.5, or both?
